Les Accents têtus is a public-interest association and writing workshop based in Montreuil, in the Paris region, where it has operated since 2004. It encourages reading and writing among children, teenagers, adults and seniors, welcoming participants from the age of eight and people with varied levels of confidence in writing. Its programme includes regular weekly, monthly and fortnightly workshops, evening and daytime sessions, holiday courses and weekend events.
The association also offers writing activities in schools, educational and cultural organisations, libraries and community centres, including projects with local partners. Alongside workshops, it hosts writers, readings, collective writing evenings and intergenerational events. To share participants’ work and support access to literature, Les Accents têtus publishes collections, contributes to partner journals and presents selected texts on its website.
Its activities take place throughout the year, with workshops generally running from September to June and additional courses during school holidays. With an approach grounded in openness, freedom and independence, the association aims to make books and literature accessible to people of all ages
