Les Amis de French Lines is a French association dedicated to promoting, preserving and sharing the country’s maritime and port heritage. It brings together enthusiasts who support this mission, take part in its activities and help pass maritime history on to future generations. The association focuses particularly on the stories of French shipping lines, ports, passenger ships and life at sea.
Members and the public can engage with this heritage through historical talks, exhibitions, articles and cultural events, including programmes developed with museums, libraries and other heritage partners. The association also organises group visits and annual trips to notable port cities, with opportunities to discover maritime museums, ships and related sites. Its news and online content explore subjects such as historic voyages, shipboard cuisine, photography and iconic vessels.
People interested in maritime history can join the association, renew their membership or make a donation to support its work. Through these activities and partnerships, Les Amis de French Lines offers an active community for learning about and celebrating France’s maritime past.
