Lesley Clarke Art

Lesley Clarke Art is the studio and online gallery of artist Lesley Clarke, based at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Born and raised in Scotland, Clarke creates abstract works that explore emotion and often conflict. Her practice uses acrylic paint, found objects, and related media to build complex, multi-themed visualizations. She aims to draw viewers into each piece and communicate its underlying feeling or tension without distraction from individual elements.

The website presents collections across encaustic, acrylic and mixed media, and collage, alongside examples of sold work. Clarke also offers commissions and welcomes visitors to her studio, where they can learn more about her work. The studio is located at 105 North Union Street, Studio 341, in Alexandria. It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; weekend visits are available by appointment. Visitors can contact the artist by email or phone, and sign up for studio news and updates through the newsletter.
