Association MAM, or Maison d’Accueil Maternel, supports expectant and new parents through welcoming, free spaces for families in the early years of a child’s life. Its locations in Monthey, Sion and Vevey are open to families with children up to 36 months, with no requirement to be facing a particular difficulty or to meet specific conditions. Parents can meet others, share everyday experiences and questions, and receive attentive support without judgment.

MAM’s approach considers the parent, the child and the relationship between them. Its services include opportunities to talk with professionals, support in the parent-child relationship, and workshops and activities focused on family wellbeing and child development. When helpful, staff can also guide families toward other services or professionals. Support is adapted to each family’s needs and circumstances.

The association’s work is supported by the Cantonal Youth Service, the Valais Hospital’s psychiatry service, the Chaine du Bonheur and foundations including Fondation Mammina. Donations also help sustain its activities.
