Le Théâtre du Risque

Le Théâtre du Risque is a professional artistic collective based in Grenoble, France, creating contemporary theatre for audiences in Grenoble and beyond. The company presents visually striking yet intimate productions, bringing contemporary playwrights and their work to the stage through stories that connect history with the present. Its distinctive theatrical language combines raw performances, cinematic structures and carefully shaped stage worlds that can feel fractured, symmetrical and unsettling. Performers engage actively with scenography, shifting between manipulating, observing and inhabiting the action.

The company develops original productions and adapts dramatic texts, including works by Koffi Kwahulé and William Shakespeare. Its repertoire includes La Mélancolie des Barbares, L’Odeur des Arbres and Nema, alongside a three-part Atrides saga featuring Iphigénie, Agamemnon and Électre. Other projects include contemporary interpretations such as Othello, as well as solo performances. Productions are presented in venues and can be available on tour. The Théâtre du Risque’s work explores violence, power, family, social change and human relationships through bold staging and evocative theatrical experiences.
