LEVEL COACHING

LEVEL Coaching is a child-coaching practice that combines play-based methods with activities involving horses to help children build confidence and resilience. Its program supports children in standing up for themselves, expressing and managing emotions, setting boundaries, recognising their strengths, and working toward personal goals. Sessions take place in a safe, encouraging environment and include games, discussion, role-play, and individual or group exercises with horses. Children work toward milestones focused on courage, trust, and perseverance, with earned levels serving as reminders of what they have achieved.

Horses are central to the approach because they respond sensitively to people’s non-verbal signals and behaviour, offering children a non-judgmental way to gain insight into their feelings and actions. No horse-riding or previous horse experience is required; activities are done from the ground. LEVEL Coaching is led by Louise van Steenbrugge, an experienced educator and coach, and Leonie van der Lecq, a healthcare professional and certified equine-assisted coach. The practice offers small-group training at Manege de Westkustruiters in Wassenaar.
