About Levy Institute
The Levy Economics Institute of Bard College is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy research organization founded in 1986 with support from Bard College trustee Leon Levy. Based at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, it examines economic policy issues and aims to turn ideological arguments into informed debate, encouraging diversity of opinion and maintaining independence from political and other affiliations.
The Institute conducts research and shares its findings through strategic analyses, working papers, policy notes, public policy briefs, research project reports, and concise one-page publications. Its programs address monetary policy and financial structure, the US and world economies, economic policy, employment and labor markets, income and wealth distribution, poverty measurement, economic well-being, and gender equality in the economy. The Institute also maintains the Minsky Archive and explores topics including financial instability, money, time poverty, and job guarantees.
Alongside its research, the Levy Institute offers commentary, podcasts, a blog, graduate studies, and public events.
