About The Lewy Body Society
The Lewy Body Society is a UK charity dedicated exclusively to Lewy body dementia, and the first organisation of its kind in Europe. It supports people living with the condition, their families and carers, as well as health and care professionals and researchers. Lewy body dementia can affect memory, thinking, movement, sleep and behaviour, and is often misdiagnosed. The Society works to improve understanding of the disease and its impact, campaign for greater awareness, and help ensure that people affected are not left to face it alone.
Research is central to the Society’s work. It funds clinical research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of Lewy body dementia, and has supported projects with UK universities since 2007. Its website provides information about symptoms, treatment and living with the condition, along with resources for carers and professionals. These include leaflets, videos, FAQs, a podcast, research updates and details of clinical trials and opportunities to take part in research.
