Lex250

Lex250 is the Town of Lexington, Massachusetts’ community-wide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and the nation’s founding era. Created to honor the past and inspire the future, the initiative brought residents, organizations, businesses, and visitors together through a multi-year program of events and civic activities. Its celebration included hundreds of performances, exhibits, lectures, educational programs, and community gatherings, culminating in 2026 with a public reading of the Declaration of Independence.

A central program, VO250, encouraged people connected to Lexington to volunteer with local community organizations and record their service hours. The Lex250 website now serves as a permanent digital archive, with photographs, videos, stories, news, and information about the celebration’s projects and partners. Visitors can explore material on Lexington’s history, historic houses, the Minute Men, and the Black Patriots and residents of Lexington, as well as find event and visitor information. The site also features Lex250 merchandise and invites people to discover Lexington’s museums, historic places, and community traditions.
