LFSS (Landsforeningen for forebygging av selvskading og selvmord) is a user organization dedicated to helping individuals who self-harm, have suicidal thoughts, and their loved ones. Founded in 2009 by Lena-Maria Haugerud, LFSS is led by her and an administrative staff. The organization is user-driven, with services provided by volunteers from different parts of the country. LFSS operates on the principle of peer support, meaning that the volunteers have personal experience with self-harm and suicide issues, either as users or as loved ones. LFSS is politically and religiously independent.

LFSS aims to remove stigma and promote openness in society regarding self-harm and suicide issues. Their ultimate goal is to reduce the number of suicides by preventing suicide attempts and self-harm. To achieve this, LFSS focuses on providing support and guidance to individuals who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts, as well as educating and supporting loved ones. They also work on raising awareness about available help and improving access to it nationwide. Additionally, LFSS provides training and guidance to healthcare professionals who encounter their target groups.
