This comprehensive directory serves as a unified and authoritative platform, enabling States and Union Territories to maintain an up-to-date list of their administrative units, including districts, sub-districts, villages, and local governance bodies. Developed as part of the Panchayat Enterprise Suite under the e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project, the LGD aims to enhance data standardization and interoperability across various e-Governance applications, supporting transparency and efficient data exchange.

Key offerings include standardized LGD codes for geographic regions, rural and urban local bodies, and detailed statistical reports.
