The Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds (LGROW) is an agency of the Grand Valley Metropolitan Council based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It works to understand, protect, and improve the natural resources of the Lower Grand River Watershed, guided by its vision to connect water with life. The watershed extends from Ionia County to Lake Michigan and includes numerous smaller watersheds. Its rivers, streams, and connected groundwater support drinking water, agriculture, manufacturing, wildlife habitat, and recreation.
LGROW offers public information, planning resources, and opportunities to take part in watershed stewardship. Its services and initiatives include watershed mapping and management planning, water-quality data, stormwater education, Adopt a Drain, illicit-discharge reporting, and guidance on pollution prevention and proper disposal. Projects address Grand River revitalization and the water trail, green infrastructure, rain barrels, raingardens, native plants, riparian buffers, trees, and invasive species. The organization also supports community science, volunteering, student experiences, watershed groups, and events such as its Spring Forum.
