LHL represents and works for patients with heart, stroke and pulmonary diseases in Norway. LHL has 54 000 members and 240 local associations in all regions in Norway. LHL is a non-profit organization. This means that any financial profit remains within the organization and is channeled to medical purposes. No earnings may be taken out of the organization. Through educating the public, teaching, treatment, follow-up, research and political lobbying, LHL has helped improve people’s lives since 1943. And we will go on doing just that.

LHL is a member-based and non-profit patient organization that works for individuals with heart, vascular, and lung disease, allergies, stroke, aphasia, and their relatives. With nearly 54,000 members, 250 local branches, 10 interest groups, and 11 networks across the country, LHL has been dedicated to improving people's lives since its establishment in 1943. LHL offers a wide range of services and resources to support individuals and their families.
Their offerings include counseling services, peer support, information about rights, healthier living tips, heart and stroke education programs, podcasts, and webinars. They also provide resources and information about various heart, vascular, lung, allergy, stroke, and aphasia conditions, including risk factors, symptoms, treatments, and prognosis. Through public outreach, political advocacy, research, counseling, community, and volunteer work, LHL strives to make a difference in the lives of people affected by these medical conditions.
