Lebenshilfe Wetzlar

Lebenshilfe Wetzlar-Weilburg e.V. is a nonprofit association supporting people with disabilities and their families across the Lahn-Dill and Limburg-Weilburg districts. Founded in 1961, it works to promote inclusive opportunities for people with and without disabilities to live, learn and work together. The association has around 1,300 members and approximately 1,000 employees.

Its services span early intervention, childcare, family support, primary education and school assistance, as well as autism services and open support programs. For adults, the organization provides vocational guidance and training, workshop employment, residential services, housing advice and ambulatory support. It also works with businesses, offering products and services through its workshops.

Beyond direct support, Lebenshilfe Wetzlar-Weilburg promotes participation through inclusive cultural activities, events, groups and its podcast, “Reden wir einfach.” Its foundation supports specific projects for people with disabilities. Donations help fund disability services not covered by public resources, with contributions directed to projects that benefit people directly. The association also shares updates and information through its website and mobile app.
