About Libreriaislanegra
Isla Negra Books & Arts is an antiquarian bookshop and contemporary art gallery in Málaga, bringing together the history of the printed page, the appeal of glass, and the energy of contemporary art. Inspired by the cherished objects in Pablo Neruda’s Isla Negra home, the business focuses on pieces with stories and lives of their own.
Its collection includes books dating from the sixteenth century to the present, in Spanish and other languages, spanning literature, history, art, religion, law, and medicine. Isla Negra also offers historical documents and manuscripts dating from the fourteenth to twentieth centuries, with a paleography team working to transcribe them. Special editions include first editions, poetry, and books connected with Málaga and the Generation of ’27.
As a contemporary art gallery, Isla Negra presents works by Spanish and international artists and organizes exhibitions and cultural events related to art and literature. Its glass and crystal collection features pieces from Murano and Mallorca, as well as makers and brands such as Tiffany, Baccarat, and Kosta Boda.
