Evangelische Stiftung Lichtenstern

Evangelische Stiftung Lichtenstern is a charitable organisation based in Löwenstein, Germany, supporting people with intellectual or multiple disabilities and their families since 1963. With more than 800 colleagues, the foundation serves over 1,000 people across the city and district of Heilbronn and the Hohenlohe district, providing support throughout different stages of life.

Its services include early intervention, assistance in mainstream kindergartens, specialist education, vocational training, supported employment, day programmes, and family support. The foundation also offers leisure activities and several living arrangements, including residential homes, community-based assistance, and host-family placements. For older people, its services include residential and nursing care, short-term care, day care, and nursing support.

Lichtenstern also operates community-facing ventures such as Café Theo, a riding centre, a bicycle shop, and the Stern Boutique secondhand store. Its work is complemented by events, volunteer opportunities, training programmes, and ways to donate. Through this broad range of services, the foundation aims to foster inclusion, participation, and support for individuals and families.
