Liebertwolkwitz 1813 is a historical village event organized by the Hofgenossenschaft “Stiftsgut Liebertwolkwitz” eG, bringing the era of the 1813 Battle of Leipzig to life in its original setting. Held from 23 to 25 October 2026, the event explores how the upheaval affected local residents, as well as the soldiers who passed through and were quartered in the village.

More than 400 participants in historical dress recreate everyday life through demonstrations, performances and hands-on activities. Visitors can see traditional crafts including blacksmithing, rope-making, basketry and printing, and enjoy music, theatre, dancing and church concerts. The program also features period food and drink, public brewing, military encampments and displays, and scenes inspired by people who lived in Liebertwolkwitz.

Families can take part in historical children’s games, try writing with a quill, ride a small horse or explore a themed search-and-quiz activity. A printed site map and program help visitors find demonstrations, stages, meeting points and food stalls across the village’s historic courtyards and public spaces.
