Lieksan ravirata

Pielisjärven Hevosystäväinseura ry is a horse enthusiasts’ association that welcomes people of all ages and interests, whether or not they own a horse. The association is responsible for organizing Lieksa’s summer harness racing events, bringing traditional racing atmosphere to a rural setting about three kilometres from the town centre. Visitors can watch races from seating along the home straight and in covered grandstand areas, with accessible viewing available near the main stand. An age-restricted hospitality section is also provided.

Race-day services include cafés, food points and licensed areas. Guests can enjoy the races’ well-known waffles, sandwiches, baked goods and soups, alongside other refreshments. The summer programme features race meetings and themed events, including the Lieksa-Ajo. Beyond racing, the association takes part in organizing lectures and training sessions, and has plans for a coach’s evening. Membership is open to anyone interested in horses or the sport, regardless of discipline or experience. Lieksan Ravit offers an inviting way to experience harness racing, local community spirit and a cherished summer tradition.
