Life Blue Natura

Life Blue Natura is an environmental initiative focused on the role of coastal ecosystems in mitigating climate change. The project examines how seagrass meadows and tidal marshes capture and store carbon, known as Blue Carbon, while highlighting the wider environmental services these habitats provide. Its central aim is to support nature protection by recognising and strengthening the value of these natural carbon sinks.

The project shares information about coastal ecosystems, its objectives and activities, project partners, financing, results and the areas involved. Its website offers educational resources, news, a calendar of events and activities, and photo and video galleries that help visitors explore the work. It also provides access to reports and practical guidance, including recommendations for designing and implementing Blue Carbon projects in Europe and the Mediterranean. The initiative’s materials are intended for audiences such as public institutions, civil society organisations, researchers and private companies. By making information and project outputs accessible, Life Blue Natura encourages people and organisations to learn about, support and help protect coastal habitats as part of efforts to combat climate change.
