LifeCourse Nexus

LifeCourse Nexus, part of the UMKC Institute for Human Development, advances person-centered change by helping people and organizations understand and apply the Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) framework. Grounded in lived experience and shared learning, its work supports people and families of all ages and abilities to envision a good life, explore possibilities, and identify the supports needed to pursue their goals in their communities.

The organization offers training, technical assistance, and research and development. Learning pathways build knowledge and practical skills for using CtLC across roles and settings, with open courses and options for groups and organizations. Technical assistance helps teams apply the framework to strengthen services, systems, and everyday practice. Research and development involves designing, testing, and evaluating tools and approaches for real-world use.

LifeCourse Nexus also provides resources through the CtLC Library and connects people through its ambassador network, affiliates, chapters, and events. Its approach recognizes personal strengths alongside community and service supports, encouraging shared understanding and lasting change in people’s lives, communities, and systems.
