Life Cycle is a Bristol-based charity helping people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds benefit from cycling. Since 1999, it has supported more than 97,000 people through activities that promote wellbeing, develop skills and strengthen community connections. Its programmes include group rides, cycling activities for young people, one-to-one adult cycle training and tandem rides for people who cannot cycle independently.
The charity also offers practical bike-maintenance workshops and accredited Cytech qualifications, from introductory courses to advanced mechanic training. Through its Bikes Beyond Bars project, it trains prisoners in bike mechanics, while its work with schools, colleges and universities encourages young people to get cycling. Life Cycle supports employers seeking to make their organisations more cycle-friendly, including guidance and subsidies.
At the Life Cycle Hub in Bristol, visitors can access bike servicing and repairs, as well as quality refurbished bicycles. The charity also provides support such as bike vouchers and bursaries for people facing barriers to cycling
