LIFEROsalia

LIFE ROsalia is a conservation project focused on protecting saproxylic beetles and the habitats they depend on in the Carpathians. Its purpose is to help stop and reverse the loss of these habitats for species protected under the EU Habitats Directive. The project demonstrates conservation actions designed to improve connections between suitable habitats in the Putna-Vrancea site of community importance, within Putna-Vrancea Natural Park, and aims to replicate the most effective activities at other Natura 2000 sites in Romania.

The species highlighted by LIFE ROsalia are Rosalia alpina, Osmoderma eremita, Morimus funereus, Lucanus cervus and Cerambyx cerdo. The project shares information about its goals, objectives, actions and implementation area, alongside educational materials about the featured insects. Its website also provides publications, project results, communication materials, photo and video galleries, news and an application.
