About Light of the World Clinic
Light of the World Clinic, Inc. is a Florida free clinic and IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving uninsured, low-income and underserved residents of Broward County. Founded in 1989 by Dr. Erwin M. Vasquez and community leaders, the clinic works to make quality, culturally sensitive healthcare accessible regardless of patients’ ability to pay. Qualified patients can receive more than 22 medical services at no charge.
The clinic provides medical visits and community-based health screenings, including outreach in residential areas. Its care supports early intervention and treatment for common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, coronary disease and obesity. Acupuncture is also available on Thursdays. Patient education resources include bilingual videos about health conditions affecting the community.
Light of the World Clinic relies on volunteer physicians, specialists and other community members, and invites licensed healthcare providers, students and professionals to contribute their time. The organization also welcomes donations and partnerships to support its work. Based in Oakland Park, Florida, it serves the wider Broward County community through clinic services and outreach events.
