Lightwave

Lightwave is a surfboard and fin brand based in Waimārama, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. Shaper Ben handcrafts custom equipment from start to finish, drawing on a lifelong connection to surfboards, years of surfing, and experience experimenting with his own designs. The brand’s focus is on boards made for real surfing, tailored to each customer’s specifications and built to last, with delivery available across New Zealand.

Lightwave offers made-to-order surfboards for different waves and riding styles. Its range includes fish and twin-fin designs for playful speed and flowing turns; midlengths for easy paddling and glide; logs and single fins for smooth trimming and a classic feel; and performance boards and thrusters for responsive surfing in more serious conditions. A selection of hand-shaped boards may also be available ready to ride.

Alongside custom surfboards, Lightwave makes custom fins and sells surf-related items through its online shop, including fins, T-shirts, fin keys, and Van der Waal Surf Grip.
