Lignum Holzwirtschaft Zentralschweiz

Lignum Holzwirtschaft Zentralschweiz (LHZ) is the umbrella organization for the Central Switzerland forest and wood sector. It connects participants across the wood value chain, from forestry and wood processing to timber construction, carpentry and wood energy. The organization works to strengthen collaboration, facilitate knowledge sharing and promote the sustainable use and visibility of wood in the region.

LHZ brings members and industry stakeholders together through events, regional groups, project work and dialogue with public authorities and policymakers. Its initiatives include the NRP project “Strong, Sustainable and Stable Central Swiss Wood Economy,” focused on the future of forestry and wood in the region. The organization also promotes Swiss wood through information and advocacy, including the Schweizer Holz label, which recognizes buildings and other projects using Swiss wood. Its website provides sector news, project updates, event information, resources on procurement and the Swiss wood label, links, FAQs and a shop. LHZ invites organizations and individuals from the sector to become members and supports a more connected, resilient regional wood economy.
