Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) is Sri Lanka's first impact investment firm, dedicated to addressing pressing social and environmental issues across the country by promoting impact investing. LIIN channels private capital towards social enterprises through their impact investment funds and provides essential business development support, creating a thriving ecosystem for social entrepreneurs. Currently, private equity investments in Sri Lanka primarily focus on larger tech startups in Colombo.

However, LIIN recognizes the potential of small and medium-sized social enterprises scattered throughout the island. These enterprises are too large for micro loans but too small to benefit from traditional impact investment funds. LIIN bridges this gap by offering tailored solutions at every stage of growth.

At the micro stage, LIIN is a co-owner of a reality TV show called Ath Pavura, where social entrepreneurs from across the island pitch their ideas to high-net-worth individuals, acting as angel investors. Besides capital, these investors also provide market linkages and business development support. At the small/medium and large stages, LIIN is partnering with Capital Alliance and the UNDP to raise two impact investment funds.

The Social Impact Fund (SIF) will exclusively support small and medium-sized social enterprises, while the Social Entrepreneurship Fund (SEF) will invest in larger social enterprises. LIIN's mission is to provide knowledge and financial capital to small and medium-sized social enterprises in Sri Lanka, directly addressing social and environmental issues. Their vision is to lower barriers to impact investing through knowledge dissemination and develop a robust ecosystem of social enterprises across the country.

The team of LIIN is led by experienced and accomplished individuals like Chandula Abeywickrema, founder, and chairman, who is recognized as an expert in financial inclusion. The team also includes directors like Eranda Ginige, Jonathan Abeywickrema, and Harsha Purasinghe, who bring diverse expertise and extensive experience in their respective fields.
