Li-ion Tamer is a Honeywell brand focused on early warning detection for lithium-ion battery failures. Its monitoring systems identify battery off-gas—electrolyte solvent vapours released during initial cell venting—which can occur before smoke or thermal runaway. This early signal can help operators take steps to reduce risk, such as isolating energy storage components, activating alarms, increasing cooling, or improving ventilation.

The product range includes Li-ion Tamer GEN3, a plug-and-play rack system with sensors that monitor off-gas, temperature, and humidity, and the UL-certified Multi Output System, which combines a sensor and interface module with relay, Modbus 485, and CANbus outputs. The technology is designed for different lithium-ion chemistries, cell form factors, and system layouts, with applications from individual battery modules and electric vehicle batteries to room-level solutions and battery energy storage systems. It can also monitor batteries during shipping and storage. Li-ion Tamer provides product resources, technical documentation, videos, FAQs, and integration support to help customers incorporate battery safety monitoring into their systems.
