Förskolan Lilla Jag is a small independent preschool in central Hedemora, Sweden, offering children a safe, welcoming environment where each child and family is valued. With four departments and space for approximately 55 children, the preschool provides a close-knit setting supported by engaged educators who recognize each child’s individual needs. Its approach places children at the centre and emphasizes security, learning, and joy.
The preschool’s values are woven into everyday activities, helping children practise being good friends, cooperating, taking turns, and caring for one another. Food is prepared from scratch, and children can take part in growing vegetables in garden boxes. The soil is made from food scraps processed in the preschool’s hot compost.
Facilities include bright, pleasant indoor spaces and a cosy outdoor yard with fruit trees, berry bushes, slides, a playhouse, and a large sandbox. Its central location offers convenient access to the city library, Sveaparken, Lake Hönsan, Hedemora Gammelgård, and Stadsberget.
