Limfjordssammenslutningen (LFS) is an umbrella association representing organisations involved in recreational and sustainable fishing in Denmark’s Limfjord region. It works to support the natural reproduction of fish and protect biodiversity in the Limfjord and connected waterways. The association represents 16 angling clubs and nearly 4,000 members, and provides a shared voice on issues affecting local fisheries and aquatic environments.
LFS also participates in Fiskeekspressen, a nationwide initiative designed to make recreational fishing accessible to families, schools, clubs and other groups. Through its North Jutland partnership, the association offers a fishing trailer for eligible events, with equipment loans and practical guidance. The trailer is equipped for different types of fishing and outdoor exploration, with fishing rods and tackle, waders, children’s life jackets, crab lines, nets and other tools.
In addition to promoting opportunities to fish, LFS contributes to public discussions about fish and wildlife management. Its work includes providing consultation responses on seal management and raising concerns about the effects of seals on fish populations and restoration efforts in local streams.
