About LinkRide
LinkRide is a cost-sharing carpool platform that connects passengers with drivers already travelling in the same direction. Rather than operating as a taxi or for-profit rideshare service, it helps people share the real cost of a journey, with distance-based rates, transparent fare breakdowns and no surge pricing. Passengers pay a 20% booking fee on public trips, while drivers keep the fare; closed communities can agree their own rates.
The app is being tested on iOS and Android, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Features include driver and vehicle checks, daily tax and MOT rechecks through the DVLA, live trip tracking, navigation, in-trip group chat and safety tools. Payment is taken only after passengers confirm they have arrived safely. Drivers can arrange in-app payouts, and riders can join a waitlist for full trips.
LinkRide also offers groups for universities, employers and events, including verified community trips and organisational dashboards showing journeys, miles and CO2e saved. The company is preparing for a closed beta ahead of a wider launch.
