Linus Chirchir

Linus Chirchir is a data analyst and doctoral researcher whose work connects population and health data science, nursing and midwifery workforce research, and data stewardship. He works at Research Data Scotland (RDS) and is pursuing a PhD in Health and Social Care at Edinburgh Napier University. His doctoral project uses nationally representative, linked administrative and population data to study the nursing and midwifery professions across the United Kingdom, with particular interest in internationally trained professionals and their contribution to the UK health workforce.

At RDS, Chirchir works on data preparation, metadata, synthetic data, reproducible analytical pipelines within Trusted Research Environments, and data stewardship, helping make complex health and administrative datasets more accessible for research. He also leads FRAME-DS, a collaborative, cross-organisation pilot funded by the CaSDaR Network+, which is developing a framework and toolkit to recognise and support applied data stewardship in Trusted Research Environment workforces.
