Linux Bier Wanderung (LBW) is a week-long gathering for people interested in open-source software. Bringing together attendees from more than a dozen countries, the event combines talks and hands-on projects with outdoor exercise and opportunities to enjoy good food and drink. Its format offers participants a chance to share ideas, work on projects, and spend time together in an informal community setting.

LBW organizes recurring events in different locations. The website lists a gathering in Blair Atholl, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, for October 4–11, 2025, and provides event information and registration details for prospective attendees. It also maintains resources for people who are new to the event, helping them find answers to common questions before joining.

The community keeps in touch through a mailing list and a Signal channel. LBW also maintains a growing photo archive and invites attendees to ask through those channels about contributing their own photographs. Together, the events, communication channels, newcomer information, and photo collection support an international community centered on open-source software and shared experiences.
