Lion Forge Entertainment

Lion Forge Entertainment is an Academy Award-winning, Black-owned animation and live-action studio dedicated to creating diverse stories told authentically. Based in Los Angeles, the studio develops entertainment for film and television, with a focus on bringing distinctive voices and perspectives to audiences. Its work includes the animated series Iyanu and the Oscar-winning short Hair Love, alongside projects in development and adaptation.

Lion Forge produces and develops animated series, feature films, and live-action content. Its projects draw on a range of source material, including books and digital series, and it collaborates with creators, media companies, and organizations to develop original entertainment. Announced projects include a television adaptation of the YouTube series Lostlings, a film adaptation of Sarah Mlynowski’s Best Wishes book series, and an animated feature based on A Dozen Tough Jobs. The studio has also established partnerships with Nickelodeon Animation, dentsu, and Scouting America. Through its productions and collaborations, Lion Forge aims to broaden representation both on screen and among the people who create stories.
