LionHeart Nursery

Lion Heart Nursery is a nonprofit animal rescue in Salem dedicated to helping the kittens who need the most intensive care. Since 2015, its volunteers and core staff have focused on orphaned newborn and young kittens, especially bottle babies under eight weeks old. These fragile animals require round-the-clock feeding and attention, and the nursery helps fill a gap for local shelters that may lack enough foster homes for their care.

Lion Heart Nursery provides 24-hour kitten care, nurturing babies until they are healthy and old enough to find loving homes. The organization also invites community members to support its mission through donations of money, new or gently used supplies, purchases from its Amazon Wishlist, and volunteer time. Volunteer activities have included feeding kittens and helping socialize them through play and cuddling, though positions are currently on hold during a nursery remodel and expansion.

As a small, volunteer-led rescue, Lion Heart Nursery relies on community generosity to save vulnerable kittens and give them a chance to thrive.
