About LIONSROCK
LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary is a FOUR PAWS sanctuary in Bethlehem, Free State, South Africa, providing a permanent home to more than 80 rescued big cats, including lions, tigers and leopards. Many were rescued from circuses, zoos, private ownership and conflict zones around the world. At LIONSROCK, they receive lifelong care in a safe, spacious, natural environment, with enrichment activities that support their wellbeing and natural instincts.
Visitors can book guided sanctuary tours to learn about the animals and their stories. The sanctuary is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Supporters can also symbolically adopt an individual rescued big cat, make one-time or recurring donations, sign online petitions, or become ambassadors to help advance animal rescue and protection. LIONSROCK shares updates about its residents, rescue missions and animal welfare work, highlighting the transition from exploitation or neglect to a safer life. Through visitor experiences and opportunities to get involved, the sanctuary connects the public with rescued big cats and FOUR PAWS’ efforts on their behalf.
