Lisacare is a Danish association supporting vulnerable communities in Uganda. Founded in 1994 by Lisbeth Bach Sørensen, it has worked with disadvantaged groups for more than 25 years and is registered as an NGO in Uganda and as an association in Denmark. Its work focuses on people affected by infectious diseases, homelessness and poverty, including people living with leprosy or disabilities.
Lisacare’s projects include Little Denmark, a shelter in Kampala for homeless adults affected by leprosy or polio, and support for Kibibi Hospital through donated medical equipment, supplies and improvements to its facilities. The association has also built schools, operated mobile clinics and provided sponsored education for children, including children in northern Uganda. Its Girls for Girls project promotes sewing skills, reusable menstrual products and opportunities for young women to support themselves.
Lisacare raises funds through donations and sponsorships, and offers supporters ways to contribute by card, PayPal or MobilePay.
