Lisbon Surf Safari

Lisbon Surf Safari is a locally guided surf experience for travelers who want to find the right wave for their ability and the day’s conditions. Its surf guide plans personalized trips along Lisbon’s coastline, selecting among three regions: Carcavelos, Estoril and Cascais; Costa da Caparica; and Ericeira, a World Surfing Reserve with breaks ranging from mellow to powerful. Rather than teaching surfing technique, the service focuses on reading swell, wind and tide, then taking surfers to a suitable spot. It is best for people who can already paddle out and catch unbroken waves; beginners are encouraged to seek lessons from a surf school.

Packages include one-day, two-day, one-week and customized safaris. Each trip includes pickup and drop-off at Lisbon accommodation, expert wave selection, and a post-surf snack and coffee. Sessions typically take about four hours door to door, with early starts available for surfers arriving late or fitting a surf around other plans. Groups are limited to three surfers, and board or wetsuit rental can be arranged when needed.
