The Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum is a cultural and heritage destination in Market Square, Lisburn, Northern Ireland, exploring the history of the Irish linen industry and the wider story of the Lagan Valley. Its galleries bring together subjects ranging from linen cloth and local history to archaeology, modern art and the 1798 period, supported by collections that include fine damask and military medals.
At the heart of the museum is “Flax to Fabric,” an award-winning exhibition about Ireland’s industrial heritage, featuring live spinning and weaving demonstrations. Visitors can also explore temporary and visiting exhibitions, attend talks and tours, and take part in activities for families. The museum offers free workshops and tours for schools and groups, as well as an early years programme. Its weaving workshop and online resources, including a virtual museum, extend opportunities to discover the craft and history of linen. The museum also provides collection information and library and research enquiry services.
