As part of the MetaBrainz non-profit organization, which is renowned for curating and providing valuable data to the public, ListenBrainz promises to safeguard your listening history indefinitely.

In addition, ListenBrainz offers data dumps of your listening history for download, ensuring accessibility for anyone interested in this valuable information. We also aim to allow the sharing of listen histories in a distributed manner, enabling connections with other music platforms like Last. fm.

Furthermore, we encourage the installation of personalized ListenBrainz servers by smaller music communities to collect data specific to their focus, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing. While ListenBrainz focuses on building a public and shareable store of listen data, we also have a roadmap for future improvements. Our short-term plans include enhancing user data graphing features, followed by the development of an open-source recommendation engine using data from ListenBrainz, AcousticBrainz, and MusicBrainz.
