About London Literary Salon
The London Literary Salon is a learning community that brings people together to explore literature, the arts and ideas through shared discussion. Founded in 2004, it offers small, friendly groups led by skilled facilitators who connect participants’ perspectives with questions raised by the works being studied. Its approach centres on slow, attentive reading and the value of a committed group in deepening the experience.
The Salon’s programmes span literature, poetry, drama, ancient classics, philosophy, creative writing, visual arts and cinema, alongside travel studies and themed explorations. Participants may encounter writers and artists ranging from Homer, Dante and Shakespeare to Dostoevsky, Joyce, Proust and Virginia Woolf, as well as subjects such as Renaissance art and contemporary film. Studies and events are offered both online and in person, with Zoom sessions available. The Salon publishes a calendar of current and upcoming programmes, along with a blog, podcasts and newsletters that share news, reflections and cultural interests.
