About Little Chute Historical Society
The Little Chute Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of the Village of Little Chute, Wisconsin. Organized in 2000 and active since January 2001, the Society gathers local historical records, artifacts, photographs, documents, and family histories. It also helps people interested in researching the community’s past and supports efforts to locate individuals buried at St. John Cemetery.
The Society develops and maintains museum displays at the Van Asten Visitor Center, which also houses its workspace and archival storage. Visitors can explore current exhibits, including material about passengers aboard the Maria Magdalena, America, and Libra. The organization also provides genealogy links and biographies from past Cemetery Walks, and shares information about the Little Chute Windmill and visitor center.
The Society offers an online store, accepts donations of historical items for potential display, and welcomes members and visitors to its regular meetings. Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting local history, with individual, family, and lifetime options available.
