Little Parrots is a childcare and early learning centre in Arataki, Mount Maunganui, offering a warm, home-like environment for tamariki and their whānau. The centre aims to give children a strong start in life by supporting curiosity, confidence and individual development throughout their early learning years.

Its programme is inspired by Te Whāriki, Aotearoa New Zealand’s early learning curriculum, and combines play-based learning, intentional teaching and meaningful interactions. Learning experiences are shaped around each child’s interests, strengths and culture, with the goal of nurturing capable, confident lifelong learners. Little Parrots also offers a School Readiness Programme.

Whanaungatanga, or connection and belonging, is central to the centre’s approach. Kaiako work in partnership with families, valuing their aspirations and supporting children within a community built on kindness, trust and respect. The centre highlights strong kaiako-to-tamariki ratios and ongoing professional development for its team, helping them build meaningful relationships and create engaging learning opportunities. Families are invited to visit, meet the team and explore the centre before enquiring about enrolment.
