Live Healthy Miami Gardens (LHMG) is an initiative aimed at transforming the community of Miami Gardens into a healthier place to live, work, play, and learn. Established in 2014 through a partnership with the City of Miami Gardens and the Health Foundation of South Florida, LHMG combines the efforts of 46 organizations and over 100 individuals to address public health challenges collaboratively. With a focus on key health impact areas such as alcohol, tobacco, healthy eating, mental health, physical activity, and primary healthcare, LHMG implements community-level health strategies to reduce health disparities.
The initiative fosters engagement among residents through various programs, including community conversations, volunteer opportunities, and a commitment to health improvement pledges. Funded by grants from the National League of Cities and the CDC, LHMG is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Miami Gardens’ diverse population of over 113,000. With ongoing support and active participation, the initiative strives to create lasting positive changes in public health outcomes across the community.
