Liverpool Turkey Trot

Liverpool Turkey Trot is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that hosts an annual Thanksgiving Day running event in Liverpool, Central New York. Combining a festive atmosphere with a park setting, the event welcomes runners and community members to begin their holiday with an active, inclusive celebration. Since its first race, which drew 124 participants, the trot has grown to more than 2,300 participants and is now one of Central New York’s largest Thanksgiving running events.

The organization provides race registration, event information, packet pickup details, course maps, and opportunities to participate as a sponsor, vendor, or volunteer. It also shares race-day photos, past results, and merchandise through its website. Community impact is central to its work: in 2025, the event donated $36,000 to local nonprofits, schools, and athletic programs, bringing its reported giving over 12 years to more than $235,000. Supported by participants and sponsors, Liverpool Turkey Trot directs its annual event toward both seasonal fun and meaningful support for the Central New York community.
