Livro Galego

The Projeto Livro Galego, initiated in 2020 at the University of A Coruña, focuses on the study of the editorial landscape and cultural dynamics surrounding book publishing in Galicia from 1978 to 2026. This initiative aims to explore the circulation of cultural products, strategies of key stakeholders in the complex cultural ecosystem, and the interactions between these agents and broader literary systems. Originally spearheaded by Roberto Samartim and Lucia Cernadas, the project's research includes the establishment of a comprehensive database documenting books published in the Galician language during the autonomous period, encompassing various formats and languages.

With support from the State Agency for Research of the Spanish government, the project is evolving into its second phase, expanding its timeline and scope to include all books published in Galicia, regardless of language. The project has generated significant academic output, including international conference papers and publications, showcasing the relevance and impact of Galician literature in the cultural realm. The dedicated team continues to enhance this research, fostering a deeper understanding of Galicia's literary heritage.
