Boney M., the iconic Euro-Caribbean vocal group formed in Germany in 1976, is best known for its infectious disco rhythms and unforgettable hits. Led by the remarkable Liz Mitchell, the group captured the hearts of millions with chart-toppers like "Rivers of Babylon" and "Mary's Boy Child - Oh My Lord," which showcases the soulful blend of reggae and pop that defined their sound. Over their active years, Boney M. sold more than 100 million records worldwide, solidifying their place in music history.
Liz Mitchell, born in Jamaica and moving to London at a young age, further enhanced the group's appeal with her powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence. Today, Liz continues to perform the beloved classics of Boney M., while also advocating for children's rights through her Let It Be Foundation. Her dedication to both music and philanthropy earned her the honor of being named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
