Lesní mateřská škola Broučci is a forest kindergarten and children’s forest club based in Kladno, Czech Republic, operated by Lesní mateřská škola Broučci, z. s. It offers children aged three to six a nature-centered preschool experience, spending the day outdoors in the forest in all kinds of weather under the guidance of experienced leaders. When conditions make it unsafe to be in the woods, children can use a brick-built shelter or visit places such as the library or Sokol.
Broučci places free play and first-hand experience of nature at the heart of its approach. Children explore seasonal changes, talk, create, sing, read, cook, play and share meals, while developing independence, empathy, respect for people and the natural world, and skills for handling emotions and conflicts. The kindergarten also observes Czech holidays and traditions in a friendly group setting.
Alongside its preschool, Broučci offers summer day camps at its forest-kindergarten base and weekly outdoor sessions for parents with their youngest children.
