Llar Carme

Llar Carme is an open, inclusive residence and day centre for older people in Premià de Dalt, Barcelona. Its approach centres on dignity, personal choice and helping residents remain engaged with life and society. The team aims to accompany each person by listening, communicating and building relationships, while providing care that respects their individual needs and identity.

Services include medical and nursing care, social education, gerocultural support, physiotherapy, psychology, pharmacy, hairdressing and podiatry. Residents can also take part in music therapy, individual and group outings, and alternative therapies such as yoga, acupuncture and animal-assisted therapy. The multidisciplinary team includes care, health, management, kitchen and cleaning staff.

Llar Carme also highlights connection, memory and new experiences. Its planned initiatives include sensory-based programmes, artificial intelligence-designed activities, virtual reality visits to familiar destinations, and concerts linked to residents’ memories.
