Leben mit Behinderung Hamburg is a Hamburg-based, nonprofit network and social care provider that supports people with disabilities and their families. Its parents’ association brings together around 1,500 families and represents the interests of people with disabilities and their relatives. Through its social services subsidiary, the organisation supports approximately 1,500 people, with a focus on individual choices, independent life paths and equal participation in city life.

Its services span family support, advice and person-centred planning, including guidance for parents and assistance at home. Housing options range from shared and group homes to support in a person’s own home. For work and daily activity, the organisation offers day centres and opportunities to gain experience in workplaces. Inclusive courses and educational leave cover subjects such as politics, cooking and relaxation.

The organisation also provides children’s and youth services, holiday trips, meeting places and inclusive leisure and cultural activities. These include theatre and literature projects, community outings and the Hamburg Culture Pass, which helps people attend venues such as theatres, museums and cinemas.
