LNT Oslo og Akershus

LNT Oslo og Akershus is a regional association within LNT, serving people affected by kidney and liver disease, organ transplantation, and related health challenges, as well as their families and carers. The organisation offers opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences, including a peer-support service in which trained volunteers use personal experience to provide understanding and practical encouragement. Its activities include member gatherings, social and cultural events, educational evenings, talks, and information about health, treatment, transplantation, organ donation, and patient rights.

The association also promotes public awareness through information initiatives and conversations about organ donation, and highlights issues important to patients and relatives, such as mental health, bone health, hygiene, and safe use of medicines. LNT Oslo og Akershus welcomes members and volunteers, and works to ensure that patients’ and families’ perspectives are heard in healthcare and community discussions. Through local activities, shared knowledge, and mutual support, it helps people navigate the experiences surrounding chronic illness, dialysis, transplantation, and caregiving
